Biography and Work
Philosophy
Claudine Varesi grew up
between Mexico, Peru and Switzerland. She studied
art at the
Kunstgewerbeschule ZH (CH) and the Pontificia Universidad
Catolica
in Lima (Peru). She was
member of the Maria Retivoff Modern Dance Group,
studied Cinematography with
the Peruvian film director Armando Robles Godoy,
as well as voice training, psychology, and philosophy.
After several years working
for publicity agencies as a free-lance designer, she
opened her own studio for
illustration, design, and gives creativity workshops.
Always at the search of new
forms of creative expression, she tries to bring this
into her painting. She
sees the possibility, as well as the challenge to
work with symbols, and the
effects of color to enhance the message of an artwork.

The quest for a meaning
beyond esthetic expression brings the sense of unity she
is searching. Her oil,
acrylic, and silk paintings are an intention to formulate the
relationship of mankind
being the token between the micro and the macro-cosmos.
In 1995 one of her paintings was selected as part of the
Ars ad Astra
exhibition on Mir space station in Earth orbit.
Space interests her profoundly, and she sees in it a
perfect environment for
visionary artwork. Space Art represents for her a chance
to formulate possibilities
that could indicate paths to new discoveries. Space
artists are the visionary
pioneers of our time.
Space art is idicative of
possible technological development; however, deeper
meaning of preserving earth,
and human related knowledge are an essential element in
the cultural dimension of
space exploration.
Her work tries to express
the importance of life in this whole process.
