 Colors are like tones as they have both measurable (nanometers) and energetic vibrational frequencies. They are perceived by the eye (retina) which then conducts the impression to the epyphesis. This impressesion is stored in the brain which, in an unbelievable speed, calculates and recognizes a light or a color and then decides if the sensation is pleasant or not. This information is immediately transmitted through the nervous system to the last cell in our organism. 
Through their specific frequency, colors effect a powerful but subtle influence upon us, independent of our awareness of this process. They also have a direct influence upon our body, stimulating our vitality, or by calming our activities. They also affect our intellect, influence our psychology, our moods and our emotions. 
In the work I do with my students, I help them to understand both the process of photosynthesis and psychological interpretation of color. I also try to stimulate them to experience colors through their senses by enriching their awareness of the positive and healing effects of color. | |
